"fatal: Missing space before < in ident string:" error received after partially processed #17

Ideally, any author map file that is passed in would be validated at load time, not when it was first encountered in the repo. For example, I received the error in the topic after 22126/85052 revisions were scanned, which presumably was the first revision containing the author string that had the malformed map value.

Oh, really, I am not doing any kind of validation, have no thoughts from this perspective, but of course it is better fail fast.
