Currently, it looks like the 3 open pull requests have been sitting idle for over a year and none of the current branches look like they've received any non-trivial updates for a year or two as well.

I tried looking on NPM for some alternative handlebars packages that are compatible with Koa 2, but sadly none of these look like they're maintained anymore either.

The official ejs package seems to be maintained regularly, so I'm not quite sure why koa-hbs doesn't receive the same attention. Perhaps the package simply wasn't very widely used to begin with, or interest died out over time.

It looks like @shellscape was one of the last to really be involved with koa-hbs, but he currently seems to be busy with a handful of other projects. I would be more than happy to help out with maintenance/upgrades and new features but I'm not exactly sure who the most appropriate person would be to get in contact with to handle PRs and merges.

I'm no longer involved with this project, or the Github koa org. Resigned in protest of semver abuse on a few projects in the org that was just bonkers. Haven't used handlebars in years though. Best of luck to everyone 🍻
