Updating from Stacey 2.3

How do I update from Stacey v2.3 to v3? When I copy the App Folder, index.php and Extensions Folder it screws everything up and I get this error:

Unable to parse string: Indentation problem at line 3 (subtitle: )

I think this has to do with the new formatting of the text files and possibly the transition to .yml. Has anyone successfully upgraded from v2.3 to v3?
