Find a more robust way to handle the classes required for variants

Currently we have some patterns in the safelist to ensure the classes generated via the variant methods are available. This requires these to be manually updated and maintained.

We should have some kind of automated build process to use the output from the variant methods to either populate the safelist, or even write the colours hash directly into the components, eliminating the need for a safest
