Space and Delete Stop Working in Text Mode

As you can see in this recording, it's possible for AsciiFlow to get into a state where, even though you are in text mode and are pressing SPACE or DELETE, no characters are actually deleted/overwritten.

To be clear, in the video I'm pressing SPACE and DELETE (even though it looks like I'm pressing LEFT/RIGHT).

Note that AsciiFlow works as expected on a fresh screen (so something must happen to make it "break"):
