Unavailable entities not restored until server reboot

I use this plugin to monitor battery powered radiators. If they lose battery completely, they become unavailable. Unfortunately, even if the batteries are replaced, the entity continues to show as unavailable until home-assistant is restarted. Is there anything that can be done to periodically check if a value has become available from the prometheus server again. I know that the values are accessible from the prometheus server because the external monitoring system I use is able to display them.
