the same is also the case for n64 games but in that case they are missing the core. all the atari5200 and atarijaguar games that i've tested got stuck on a black screen even after changing almost all settings I failed to run them.

Can you tell a little more about your config? Which OS, display driver, etc?

nothing much different from the default one (the error is still occuring in the newest release)

It's very possible that some systems may need a BIOS and that you don't have the required BIOS.

Is there a way to load the bios file manually because I can't find any way to set the folders for bios in settings

The bios folder is called the system folder in the libretro world.
