How can I run ibex RTL simulation with VCS on Ubuntu

Hi,

I am running ibex riscv-dv with questasim and the makefile is not going through. (here)

Synopsys officially doesn't support VCS on Ubuntu.
How can I use VCS on my Ubuntu machine as I see options for VCS lised in the codebase and discussions around them.
