<p> I'm an ex-neuroscience researcher turned science analyst, communicator, and open science advocate. I currently work for the <a href="https://monarchinitiative.org/" target="_blank">Monarch Initiative</a>, an international consortium focused on integrating multi-species biological data and supporting open science efforts, where I analyze our data, <a href="https://youtu.be/4Jqu8mBXcmA" target="_blank">present at conferences</a>, and write <a href="https://monarch-initiative.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">blogs</a>. I am a founding member of the <a href="https://womeninsciencepdx.org/" target="_blank">Portland Women in Science organization</a> and acting news editor on the communications committee. I have co-organized conferences such as <a href="https://cascadiarconf.com/" target="_blank">Cascadia R Conf</a>, a local programming conference with hands-on educational workshops, and <a href="http://portland.sciencehackday.org/" target="_blank">Science Hack Day Portland</a>, a 36-hour open source event focused on making fun things with science!

<p> I'm a classically trained neuroscience researcher, and have my PhD from Oregon Health and Science University. While in grad school, I found my passions for open science, teaching, data analysis, and advocacy (especially for women in science!). </p>
