Good idea. We discussed it in the past and it's doable.

BTW implementing this should be straightforward with Manticore Buddy, as demonstrated in the article here for SHOW HOSTNAME.

We encourage anyone to create their own Manticore Buddy plugin and contribute it back to us, allowing us to share it with everyone. If this isn't your cup of tea, you're more than welcome to simply submit a feature request. We anticipate having time to address this eventually, once our higher-priority tasks have been completed.

I read the aritcle, it runs a php code that call gethostname() then return the result to mysql client, do you mean I should wrtie a php that parse insert ... select ... , then get result from select ..., then execute that as many insert ... values() first?
