question about embedding

I have been searching for quite some time.for a good solution for an offline geocoding / search solution for mobile device. The idea would be to store a database file locally and do geocoding / search (like photon) on it.
I am wondering if manticoresearch could fit the need. For that I have a few questions.

• do you think it can be embedded / build for android / iOS ?
• I would not need the http side of it as I would call it directly from c++. Is there an open API for that ? I guess I could simply call what the http server calls internally
• do you think it would be a good idea?
• about storage is any storage solution optimized for size? The smaller the better ;)

I read https://github.com/komoot/photon, it based on elastic search and has full feature.

Not sure about iOS, but it looks like @l1t1 got some success with running Manticore on Android #1272

There's https://github.com/manticoresoftware/manticoresearch/tree/master/api/libsphinxclient, but it's got no attention for years, so may lack some functionality.

Yes, but may require an effort to make things run. You should also take into account the license aspect, to make sure it won't be a problem when you want to distribute the final product.
