I have the same issue with Verizon bills. They look fine in Firefox embedded viewer, but "fat fonts" in Atril.
The properties dialog shows 17 identical embedded "No name", "Type 3" fonts.
The creator is "Ricoh Americas Corporation, AFP2PDF Plus Version: 1.301.33"

Can you install evince long enough to test this? That would determine if this is a problem with an underlying library handing fonts or with Atril.

I have never worked on Atril's rendering code so I cannot be the one to fix it. Hopefully someone else here will get to it.

I had Evince installed (I didn't know that software neither I didn't know I had it installed). I opened the same PDF and it looks the same.
