Thinking big here: a new plugin.

Our user writes:

"I would expect a sort of reconciliation (consolidation) to merge the two data sets (JS tracker data + log analytics data to) a have a unique set of reliable and complete data"

Their solution is to combine the tracking of log analytics with the JS tracking data

"Data must be reconciled. You already have the roll-up reporting component… you could use it to merge data. Basically, you should start from data traked by the Java script… you should add to these data information coming from the log. In the merge, you could skip matching data based on 3 parameters configured by the administrator

• Ip
• Date/time of visit (with the possibility to define a tolerance…)
• Country

The administrator would allow only to set the time tolerance. I checked and the difference is 4/6 seconds, so 10 seconds of tolerance in difference would be suitable. Then you could simply import the visits from log tracking that are not matching with visits tracked by javascript. With such a feature, I would purchase the roll-up component. I will go through the other points and come back to you if needed. "

Possible difficulty in mapping these together

"We noticed long visits that are reported as one by the javascript that are split in several visits by log import."

(I didn't put this into the https://github.com/matomo-org/matomo-log-analytics repo issues - it's not not a tweek of Log Analytics.)
