It would be great to decouple the core of brainstem-redux from any jQuery / Backbone / StorageManager shenanigans.

A good first step is to remove the default adapter and instead throw an error if nothing is provided.

Perhaps the adapters can be their own repos? This would be very akin to enzyme and their adapters React adapters.
