Gridview opened a .trashme file from the open video button. There was a time issue with the trashme file and the subject was not in the frame (attached screenshot). I scrubbed around before and after where the video opened and could not find what I was looking for. This won't be an issue once the .trashme files are deleted.

@mkbassett Gridview doesn't currently have a notion that these video references should be excluded, so it's using them as normal -- is there a standard for video references that shouldn't be used, or is it just the presence of _trashme in the filename?

@hohonuuli Should these video references be deleted or otherwise flagged in VARS?

@kevinsbarnard Ideally, there shouldn't be any annotations directly attached to any *_trasnme* files. If there are, that's a mistake that will have to be unwound.

For the most part, the trashme files are a temporary solution to problematic videos created during tape transcoding by Iron Mountain. We're waiting for them to finish redigitizing those (which is taking a lot longer than expected). When we finally get all the redone videos into our system, I'll be deleting the trashme's out of VARS.

So a temporary fix might be to hack in something to ignore trashme files in grid view.

There are no annotations associated with trashme files, Gridview is just finding that file as the closest GMT for a localization made on a framegrab or an older tape annotation. We'll make sure no new annotations were made on trash me files before we delete them in a month or so.

Kris is correct, this was more of an FYI ticket to make sure it didn't cause problems down the line.
