Draft definition: any anomaly in the blood concentration of
this endocrine hormone, secreted by the enteroendocrine K-cells in the mucosa
of the duodenum and jejunum in response to feeding, that stimulates insulin
release to regulate blood glucose and nutrient homeostasis.
