Same happens for preview Terminal windows is usable and you can still open new tabs or change settings. |
Thanks for filing! Can one of you capture a dump and share it with us /? Instructions here: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/wiki/Troubleshooting-Tips#capturing-and-sending-dumps |
Idle thought: I think this is fixed in #18248 Can you try Installing Terminal Canary? |
|
Looking forward to releasing a new version soon. |
I'll mark that one up for backporting. Thanks! |
For me the bug still exists in canary v1.23.10081.0 |
Anything else i can provide? Terminal isn't usable in this state and i need to use Tabby or similar alternate |
it seems after installing jan 2025 updates and a reboot it works as expected again 🤔 |
Thanks for following up! Closing |
@viceice hi, what is this? is this a terminal update or windows update? why i can not find this? @zadjii-msft hi,is there an update for terminal stable, thanks |
windows update. I think the reboot fixed it somehow. 🤷♂️ I usually doing hibernate for a month until windows updates need to reboot the system. |
It's crazy that a fatal problem with a terminal software has not been fixed since it went wrong last October until now. |
We get dozens of comments a day, every day, just in this repository. A good chunk of them are flak.
If the issue happens again, please capture a heap dump and open a new issue: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/wiki/Troubleshooting-Tips#capture-with-task-manager That said, because of this issue and all the other similar ones, we've rewritten the windowing implementation for Windows Terminal Preview 1.23. Hopefully, it fixes your issue. You can download it here: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/releases/download/v1.23.10353.0/Microsoft.WindowsTerminalPreview_1.23.10353.0_8wekyb3d8bbwe.msixbundle |
