examples for creating ports

I would like to create ports of some libraries.
Most of them are not based on cmake, but have robust build scripts.

I was not able to find an example of this process.
please provide an example of such a port, including the steps of pointing to a specific tag of the library

Additionally, if I understand correctly I can either submit the port as a PR to this repository, or create a registry (blog)
