Renderer ignores new-line characters

About this issue

When the markdown-text is rendered and the element changes, the new line character ("\n") gets ignored, which is resulting in missing spacing.
For example, the text "## Title here\n\nOther content here", the title gets rendered correctly but the two new-line characters are not rendered, which should happen.

## Title here
Other content here

I have searched for similar open issues, but found none.
I read the README to ensure, that I did not miss an option for the Markdown renderer.
