This is probably the reason I wrote my original vim-drawer plugin. It works great with nvim-drawer out of the box, and was the inspiration behind the tab system.

To hide lines numbers & co an example is included in the readme, but you will probably want to rely on autocmds instead so it applies everywhere a terminal is used.
