What is the status for subsurface-scattering models in Mitsuba2?
Description
Subsurface scattering models are used to render (relatively) realistic human skin, which is important in many computer vision data generation tasks. However, in this documentation page, it is stated that there are currently no plans to whether include or exclude such models. What are the reasons causing this status, and if I am to implement the KdSubsurface model from PBRT, what would be the potential challenges (autodiff, GPU, etc.)? Thank you for your time.
