Instead of selecting a start and end, you select a start, and a "next" point, then scroll wheel changes the number of times that line is extended or copied. This way you can create as many spots as you need even if the end spot doesn't have an easy way to place an "end" point. Also you could easily calculate the "edge" coords and "center" coords.
