Determine what needs to be backed up.
- Linux Desktop, MacBooks, photos from phones, VMs, Longhorn PVs, scanned documents, NFS shares.
Determine what OS to use for the backup server.
- Proxmox Backup Server.
Install the OS
Configure the 8x 8TB HDDs into a storage array.

Focus on VM/CT backups from helios:

Install Proxmox onto unbiased-kangaroo.
Configure zpool with two 4x 8TB disk raidz1 vdevs.
Create pbs VM on the host.
