How do I install the latest version of mpv on Linux Mint Debian Edition without using Software Manager (which has an outdated version)? #15724

I can't remember if I'm on LDME or Linux Mint..anyway apt show mpv
displays 0.39.0+fruit-0build1~jammy
that is the latest which came out September 2024.

oh it does say ppa ...so yeah I'm on Linux Mint. LDME can't do ppa sources. So in this case pretty much have to compile your own which is gonna be pretty difficult with all the dependencies or just wait till it gets included in apt sources. You could try SMPlayer in the meantime which is based on mpv.
