Our goal is to increase transparency in official information channels areound the world.

This is an open source project to create a standard, internationalised platform for making Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in different countries and languages.

The software is still quite young, but is already running in five languages and three jurisdictions around the world.

Alaveteli is usually installed and run by groups who campaign on Freedom of Information. Our goal is to support groups to get an Alaveteli system up and running within a few days of installing the software. Currently, installation requires quite a lot of support. If you are interested, please get in touch with us directly -- preferably on the project mailing list, but you can also contact the project lead directly if you're shy!
