More consistent name for "laser towers"

The shot that our "laser towers" shoot looks more like lightning than a laser. So let's think of a better name for them, and what there normal civilian mining purpose would be.

I guess the shot should also be temporary, like lightning, rather than continuous, like lasers.

We could also have actual laser towers.

Or we could just use a different shot effect for the laser towers and make separate lightning towers (with better in-universe names) that use the current effect.
But I do like the current effect :-)
