TypeScript/Intellisense not loading in VS Code

Not sure if this is a me thing or an issue with this repo so posting in case I'm not alone:

My autocomplete/intellisense/type ahead is not loading in VS Code. I've seen issues on other repos with the same challenges that often point back to bad TS configuration, but I'm seeing this issue on this repo with no modifications. I've also heard extensions can cause issues so I tried disabling some likely suspects to no avail.

Any else seeing this? This is pretty debilitating since it breaks functionality including auto-imports.
