When running

curl -s https://laravel.build/example-app | bash

or something similar, some people have an error saying Docker is not running ! despite Docker clearly running.
To fix that, go to settings => resources and:

  • advanced: disable resource saving (don't remember the name)
  • WSL integration: Enable integration with additional distros: Ubuntu = ON
