Since this was keeping you up on a Saturday. I have this as part of my larger simulation package (on PyPI, but woefully undocumented). Yes, I am calling it "py a-la-mode"
From example notebooks you can largely get it to work. It cannot currently do the combinatoric search that a-la-mode does, but using foreward/backward propagation plots to find where the beam widths cross, and the diopters-distance between beam ROCs you can more methodically design telescopes which don't rely on short focal length combinations.
I wish this was in python...
