I have a problem with this issue. I tend to drag images from other application like words, pages, scrivener. those images are pasted and they are .tif or tiff image.
but this plug in does not convert or compress at all.

You're right, that Imsanity doesn't do anything with TIFF images at all, since they aren't suitable for use on a website--none of the major browsers except Safari supports them.
I could see adding a conversion routine similar to the BMP to JPG one, though I've very little experience with TIFF images, and it wouldn't be anytime soon (unless someone wants to submit a pull request).
As a start, I'd ask you to post a few example images (or links to them) so that we have something to test with.
