TAs can only add existing contacts as students

This seems like unnecessary complexity since the students in a TAs class need not necessarily be a person they already know and is in their contact list. However, in order to add a student TAs must also add them as contacts first.

To avoid this the person list could be removed or kept separate from the student list.

Thank you for your suggestion! However, the product is designed in this way so that TAs can keep track of all their contacts as well manage their classes, students and assessments. As students have the same properties as other contacts, it is reasonable to add students to the app as contacts first, before assigning them to classes.
