I looked through the documentation and asked for help in places on how to do so, but still don't have an answer. I do think the documentation should be more clear on this.

For instance (copy & pasting from another post I made), I want to replace 󰲡 (a 1 inside a circle), you can search nf-md-numeric_1_circle_outline on nerdfonts.com to see it. I would replace it with an Apple SF Symbol instance 1.circle:

I can paste its text character 􀀺 into a buffer inside Neovide and it shows without any extra steps or setup.

Simply changing the example icon override worked for that character:

require("nvim-web-devicons").set_icon {
  zsh = {
    icon = "􀀺", --apple sf symbol
    color = "#428850", --green
    cterm_color = "65",
    name = "Zsh"
  }
}

How does foo.zsh look when you do that?
