Do we impose a structure on profile names that distinguishes the version
qualifier from the base profile name? If so, is there a specific
separator character or string (in which case the use of the separator
must be escaped somehow (or disallowed) in profile names.

This needs to be revisited as part of profile version syntax discussed in issue #129
