Syntax highlighting broken for multi-line constructs #4

This is particularly obnoxious in XEmacs where this issue appears to abort the entire highlighting process.

Emacs seems a bit more tolerant in this regard.

Multi-line highlighting isn't trivial to set up and typically brings along more issues to take care of, such as treating comments as whitespace.

Stay tuned but don't hold your breath.
