Spinning off of #392 . I expect whatever we come up with to be temporary as we grow/learn/adapt

potential strategy

one event platform, but shared aggressively

Tactics:

  • all the socials through buffer
    • create bluesky account; buffer don't have mastodon
  • post an event once it's created, instead of one week out
  • reshare it every 3-4 days until event date
  • figure out how to automate to TPG
  • figure out how to automate to Slack
  • figure out how to automate to newsletter
  • direct outreach to members we want to cultivate into organizers
    • might have to collect phone numbers too, to use as last resort. am personally reluctant on phone but it IS effective

Considersations:

  • TPG - I'm neutral on creaating TPG/Circle event since we didn't organically get any folks TPG at the March design meet. But it's also a low lift
  • Slack - thinking a Zapier from IG to general channel? I post more than just events to IG, but I'd rather overpost-then-delete, than have to manually transfer the info
  • Newsletter - think this HAS to be manual
