This is BY FAR the best .odt file editor, and it's open source. I've tried them all, and nothing comes close. Collabora for example is horrendous on Android.
Thank you for your work! People like you are truly the unsung heroes of the FOSS community, and trust me, we appreciate you deeply.
I just have two questions:
Will we ever be able to edit blank cells? Currently, when I open a spreadsheet, I can only edit those cells that already have text/numbers/symbols in them. But I cannot edit (or add data) to blank cells.
When I edit a spreadsheet and click save, it's asking me to save it as a new file. It doesn't automatically overwrite the existing file, which is what it should be doing with a "Save" function. I could find the existing file, click on it and then it asks me whether I want to overwrite it. But the problem is that the existing files are deep inside my knowledge base so I would have to open, and I'm not joking, over 15 folders just to find it.
Please let me know

I can say a bit about your first question, as I am working on the core which is handling the editing in the background.
It already a long standing goal to support editing new content and we made some steps forward but we are still not there yet and our time is quite limited atm. We started out just translating ODF into HTML without really parsing the document structure. With version 3 of the core this changed in a way that we can actually understand the document tree and in principle we would be able to add new content with that approach. The only thing missing now is some dev time to make it fly.
If you know people who would volunteer for such work it would be very much appreciated!
