24 July : Present to TAG Storage

• ummm... Why? - this is not what we agreed to do.
• Sadnbox Applicants presenting to Storage TAG is the old legacy process
• New Questionnaire hasn't yet been implemented, but new process is to not do this
• Tag Storage presentation may still be a requirement…??? unknown? - @edrob999 we need absolute confirmation ?
• if we do this, it will be seen as positive interaction
• if we fail to get a passing recommendation… it will negatively affect the application. (HIGH RISK negative impact)
  == We will need to prep
  == Ed will put together skeleton
  == maintainers need to meet and plan for this. Its not going to be easy.
  == Storage TAG has no default skeleton template
  == Ed will devise his own template
  == Will concentrate on what we've fixed & will manage expectations pro to going in

We reviewed 2 Major Project plans

• Spillover Project is where all the discussion was focused as Project 2024 May 30 : Weekly Maintainers Meeting #54 is 100% complete

• RAWfile readme isn't done
• RAWfile needs to be integrated into our UNIFIED Roadmap thinking
• Tiago : recommends the 1st item is for RAWfile to resync external changes in private external fork to main devel repo
• Update GitHub Actions for CI Release Flow can automatically happen
• Mehran has asked for specifical DockerHub access/secrets. Mehran has work to do on his process setup
• Maintainers haven't given him what he needs. - GitHub Organization secrets made available to RAWFile repo

Governance for governance

• Write up a new Governenace.md template for review. Using PR method
• Integrated Linkerd language & HELM video talk
• Add non-project special Maintainers definitions - Governance.md
• Add Emeritus section or Honor Role

Meeting Format
No maintainers meeting last week. This week maintainers moved meeting platform to Google Meet, and will use this from now on.
Scribe was working from mobile phone, this is only a partial record and complements notes above.

TAG Storage
@edrob999 informed maintainers OpenEBS is presenting to TAG Storage 24 July.
Maintainers questioned whether project needs to present to TAG Storage (it takes time to put together these presentations).
@edrob999 reminded maintainers it is currently a requirement of Sandbox to provide presentations to/get feedback from the associated TAG, plus project team should be regularly updating TAG Storage and participating in TAG Storage meetings.
@edrob999 will put together a presentation outline (it will focus on the improvements to the project + futures, moreso than a technical deep dive)

Sandbox spillovers
The Gitbook issue is duplicated in two issue lists is resolved. The help pages have a header that reads "This website/page will be End-of-life (EOL) after 31 August 2024. We recommend you to visit OpenEBS Documentation for the latest Mayastor documentation (v2.6 and above).

Updating Roadmap is an ongoing task, and not complete yet

Rawfile
Maintainers working with @semekh to set up the CI pipeline and release flow.

Changes to Governance, contributor ladder, maintainers
We have some more work to improve the governance document, contributor ladder and maintainer assignments/duties/requirements. There is ambiguity in the documents, @edrob999 will work on this, circulate to maintainers, then enter changes into a PR, allowing maintainers + community the ability to comment

Overflow meeting (4 July 2024)
We reviewed the LFX Insights account status.
All maintainers can log-in via their GitHub user. We see the LFX Insights dashboard, but openEBS is not currently showing in the LFX Insight dataset due to our Archive status. - This likely will automatically change when our Sandbox application is approved.

The exact set of labels and how they're written is still a little hazy for me. Should we move to a new github discussion for that or maybe an issue. We could eventually have a .md file on our CONTRIBUTING.md for this, and this github issue could be closed with that PR. And we could reopen the issue if and when a requirement for a new label for some use-case presents itself..

Since we decided to follow the kubernetes approach, I'd say we can take theirs, and then add anything else which we might need.
