Ideally, we would like to split edX (2U) documentation from this Open edX documentation.

The challenge is how we accomplish these (incompatible) goals:

  • Keep edx-specific details out of an openedx-org repo
  • Publish docs that make sense to a edx.org-interested reader without expecting them to flip between an Open edX source and an edx.org source
  • Don’t duplicate source information

This ticket can be used to collect ideas, or detailed problems, for how this might be accomplished.

I'm preparing to update documentation about the "Limited Staff Role" which would be relevant to both Open edX and 2U partners. Would I just make changes to both?

@feanil: Can you help provide direction on this?

@bpedx can you provide some more info, some of the documentation is just cross-linked from both places while others is duplicated, do you have a thought about where it made sense on either side?
