DMCA Notice Procedure

If you believe content on OpenStreetMap violates your copyright and wish to file a DMCA notice, please follow the procedure below.

How to Send a DMCA Notice

Send your DMCA notice to the OpenStreetMap Foundation by email. For privacy and spam prevention, the email address is displayed below in obfuscated format:

dmca [at] osmfoundation [dot] org

Replace [at] with @ and [dot] with . when using the address.

Required Information

To ensure your DMCA notice is valid, please include the following details:

  1. Your Contact Information: Full name, mailing address, and a valid email address.
  2. Description of the Work: Specify the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  3. Location of the Content: Provide sufficient detail about the location of the infringing material on OpenStreetMap (e.g., URLs, node/way/relation IDs).
  4. Statement of Good Faith: A declaration that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Accuracy and Authority: A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information you provided is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
  6. Your Signature: A physical or electronic signature.
