UPDATE TRANSLATIONS - French, Spanish and German plz #42
Comments
Here's a shot at Spanish. I'm not a native Spanish speaker, but living in Argentina since 2006, I speak Spanish every day, so these are likely right for Argentine Spanish. However, feedback from more experienced speakers would be helpful. welcome = Bienvenida, # or Bienvenido, if user is male |
Thank you!! would you like to submit a pull request, or would you like me to do it for you? Note that even if I do it, you will be credited for your contribution as Author. :) |
You should do it — my item above has at least as many questions as answers :) On the gender question, I suppose "Bienvenid*" should probably follow whatever convention the rest of the UI has when it comes to assumptions about the user's gender. One possible alternative: here in Argentina, a gender-neutral suffix that's coming into use is "@", as in "Bienvenid@". I have no idea how people pronounce that, and until recently it was not at all mainstream, but the Ministry of Justice is using it now for its missing children registry, so I guess it might be mainstream enough to use. BTW, thank you for this work! I just learned about JSCommunicator the other day from a blogpost of yours syndicated to Planet Debian and thence to my screensaver. |
With new additions to JSCommunicator, some labels are missing translations. Specifically the last 10 or so highlighted: https://github.com/opentelecoms-org/jscommunicator/blob/master/internationalization/Messages.properties#L36-L45
