Positioning difference between Q6215 and Q6055 #665
-
Hi - I have a Q6215 and Q6055. I am using the VAPIX API and a Python program to track airplanes as they fly by. The aircraft are around 10KM overhead and it uses the location broadcast from the aircraft. The cameras are controlled by skewing the camera to an initial Pan/Tilt position and then sending pan/tilt rates. The rates are calculated based on getting the cameras current pan/tilt position, and the position it needs to be at to follow the aircraft. In testing, it seems like the cameras are able to position accurately and move at the provide pan/tilt rates. With the Q6055 it is able to track the aircraft for the full time it flies overhead. However with the Q6215 it is unable to accurately track the aircraft for the entire time it is overhead. It generally seems like it is able to track accurately either as the camera approaches the top of the tilt arc, or afterwards. There seems like there is a noticeable shift in perspective as the camera shifts from one hemisphere to another as the Tilt grows and then reduces. I have tried manual leveling the camera using tripod and a geared head so I can make fine adjustments. I am unable to find adjustments the works on the Q6215 for the full length of the track. The Q6055 is a dome camera and the camera is positioned in the center of all of the point of rotations. The Q6215 is positioning camera and the camera is off center a bit from the center point. Do you think this could be a factor? Do we need to do some sort coordinate transform to account for how the cameras move? Any advice on what could account for the differences in positioning? |

not sure in which place you install your camera. But I have partner use Q6215 in airport to tracking plane takeoff and landing, no issue. Which model is you integrate first? There is a coordinate match about camera postion and real position. i think you need do that for each camera seperately. |

Hi @robotastic , Looks like the TILT coordinates may change here. |
