Hello,

Is it possible to include information about the include area from AXIS Video Motion Detection 4 in the MQTT event payload defined in a rule?

Information can be retrieved via VAPIX post request ex.

http://<servername>/local/vmd/control.cgi

You can try the MQTT publication for this. The camera serial number can be used as a unique identifier.

OR else you need to create two action rules and enter the JSON payload manually as no predefined modifiers are supported:

Thanks for your prompt response! I already have done it via the second method creating actions. What I do not know how to do is, how to use modifiers to send include area Profile properties into the message payload like

Currently, the modifiers are limited to only overlays 😞

Moving all this to ACAP acap-native-sdk-examples makes sense. These examples can be used as reference:

1. An ACAP application subscribing to multiple events
2. Using VAPIX APIs in ACAP
3. Build and use libraries(custom_lib_example) like paho.mqtt.c in ACAP to publish MQTT messages.

Thanks again for your prompt response! I was able to use some modifiers in the payload

"rotation": "#r",

but I was not able to find (if possible) how to send include area Profile properties using modifiers, but if this is not possible I'll have a look at the examples you provide.

You can find all possible modifiers in Axis cameras here:
Overlay modifiers

No modifier for your use case 😞 . Try checking the MQTT overlay modifiers if it can help.
