I really like what I'm seeing in geo.ca. You're reaching back and reincarnating many of the good features lost when Geobase shutdown in order to get folded in with the larger open (non-spatial) data initiative. Please continue! (For instance "download what I'm looking at (in GIS ready format)" is still harder than it needs to be.)
However this isn't my question for this post. I'm interested in emulating or even outright copying the tech and hosting stack for our own data. Where do I start learning about how it's done and what's necessary? The hard- and software infrastructure of course, but also the human resources (skills, experience background, attention hours per year, etc).
