I've really been racking my head trying to get The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection running through a wine wrapper. Following WineHQ, I see there is a game breaking bug involving software vertex processing that has been staged, but isn't mainstream yet. The problem is, the last "staging" engine available for download on Gcenx's Wineskin Winery doesn't have 32on64 support. So, it won't start as the game is 32 bit and Monterey is 64bit only. DXVK is also a non-starter as it doesn't have support for shader models 2 or 3 (so no D3D9 support). I'm stuck, is there any way someone could build an engine that would support this? Thanks for any and all help! |

As upstream is still working on there WoW64 implementation there’s nothing for me to do about this. |

Upstream wine is still working on there WoW64 implemention so there’s really nothing for me to do, that’s why there’s no new engines based on upstream wine as those would only be useful for someone running macOS High Sierra/Mojave. The custom versions of DXVK only support 64Bit DirectX 10/11 nothing else at the time. I’m not sure if anyone would be willing to deal with the headache of rebasing patches to function on wine32on64, I’ve done some critical ones but it’s a complete PITA so not worth spending the little free time on. |
