Following up on yesterday's call, an alternative is to offer this as an "internship". It could mean potentially targeting specific schools and universities with the job post. A highly motivated student who would have the perspective of a full-time job would balance the possibility of hiring someone junior very soon and give them space for growth, both in terms of learning and in terms of the compensation package. |

Hello @thulieblack Hello, My name is Atinuke Kayode, preferably called Bami. I am a professional community manager with over three years of dedicated experience, coupled with a diverse skill set encompassing project management, event management, email marketing, social media management, customer success, and community engagement. I am eager to bring my passion for community building and innovation to the AsyncAPI team. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of managing large open-source communities such as Layer5 and developer communities like Tunga, She Code Africa, Google Developer Group Lagos, and Web3afrika. These experiences have honed my ability to engage with diverse audiences, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful interactions that contribute to community growth and sustainability. My track record speaks volumes, as I was able to achieve the following at my last place work;
I was able to achieve all these by doing the following:
One of my core values is a commitment to helping people and fostering connections. This aligns perfectly with AsyncAPI's mission to improve event-driven architecture through collaboration and open-source contributions. My proactive approach to community engagement, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills, allows me to effectively facilitate discussions, resolve conflicts, and inspire others to participate and contribute. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to leverage my expertise in community strategy and engagement to drive initiatives that promote AsyncAPI, increase adoption, and enhance user engagement. I am currently part of the core organizers of API conference Lagos as the event manager, I have also co-organized other events like Open Source Conference Africa, Community Manager Festival, and many more. I am confident in my ability to use these connections to grow the community and execute marketing goals and strategies that resonate with the needs and preferences of our community members. In my previous role, I embraced the core values of Independence, Strength, and Joy, and I am excited about the opportunity to bring these values to AsyncAPI as we work together to empower developers and organizations to embrace event-driven architecture. Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to bring my passion, skills, and expertise to the AsyncAPI team and contribute to the continued success of the community. Here is my email address [email protected], I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my background and experiences align with the needs of AsyncAPI in more detail. |
