macOS+podman issues with running any type of dev container

Following problem:
I'm trying to use podman with dev containers. It seems to work (first command runs with podman). At some point the tool tries to execute with docker.
Am I doing something wrong here? Or is this a bug (if so, were would I report that? There are quite a lot of repositories...)
