Lifespan expectations for "experimental" features

Howdy,

Hoping for a little more insight on what the indicator (experimental) means when it comes to features within Jaeger, specifically with respect to the --es.tags-as-fields configuration options. These options, paired with manual templates, seem like the best way to support indexing span tag values as any type other than string when collected in Zipkin format.

Does (experimental) here mean "in progress, you may encounter bugs", or "caution, we might take this out at any time", both, or something else?
