Newsletter Platform and Process

We currently use mailchimp. Watching the experience of preparing the last newsletter I saw how painful it was as we try to tweak fonts here and there, add images etc.

Our newsletters are pretty simple. Couldn't we prep in e.g. markdown and then just convert?

It actually turns out that prepping HTML for emails to render across different email clients is pretty tough see e.g. https://www.caniemail.com and this thread https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=20948826

There is a framework from mailjet called mjml that looks pretty good: https://mjml.io

I could't yet find anything that obviously does markdown => MJML but probably not that hard.
