There are two questions - I cannot post on the DeepinOS Forum and know what is happening with the DeepinOS Distro #3179

For the second question, we are working on the usability issues on Arch Linux (since Arco Linux is based on Arch Linux) so once these major issues are resolved, you've be able to enjoy a much stabler experience using DDE under other distros. We (the deepin community team) have a project board tracking these issues that you can see here). Also, if you or any other developers from the community would like to help, please feel free to send us Pull Requests if you like and we're happy to help you get it merged :) For the first question, I'm not sure. Could you provide more details so we could help, e.g. what error message (if any) did you see when you click the button to post a thread? cc: @myml The following are the answers to the questions quoted from your post.
Yes, we do have such intention and we are already working on it. Some background, since 2020, DDE/deepin was converted to a fully company-driven project that was only developed and tested under two distro, deepin (the one we released to the community) and UOS (a commercial edition). Most developers from the company don't use other distro so it leads to a lot of DDE portability issues. Since the end of 2021 the company set up a new team last year to address these issues, so hopefully we will make DDE work under other distros just like other DEs so more people can enjoy it.
No. Although our main developers are from China and we actually did a lot of work to fit users from China, we still hope we could make DDE enjoyable for all people around the world. Another thing is, since most of the developers are from China, we may not be an expert about the i18n issues in other countries/regions, so if anyone is willing to help, please feel free to send a PR and let's build a better DDE :)
As said before, we are already working on it. And since it probably needs some effort to make it work better, we actually encourage other people to hop in and contribute. If you are a ArcoLinux (or other distro) packager and got any issue, please create a bug report, if you did fix a issue, please feel free to upstream your patch so all people from other distro could also get benefit from your contribution :) |

I just think that this Forum scope in the image below is much more functional to post doubts, examples and etc. |

Well, deepin is the international version. UOS is for china / corporate market if I'm not mistaken. Personally I think that if you want or have to install dde flavor outside deepin, it means that the distribution still has ways to go. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but investing ever so deficient resources on making dde working outside deepin while the upstream version of deepin has plenty of problems itself isn't the best approach. I believe that prioritizing one centralized distribution is a necessary compromise to make the platform more streamlined and recognizable for users and developers. Also I'd imagine that bringing dde to third party distros should be more of a community effort. Deepin is open-source after all. On the bright side, there may be a revolution with DDE on NixOS which can be installed on every distribution and may resolve current dependency problems. |

I still have difficulties to enter the Deepin Forum, as well as to make posts (I CANNOT POST ANYTHING). See the image I recorded in the link below: |

Hi,
There are two questions - I cannot post on the DeepinOS Forum and know what is happening with the DeepinOS Distro.
There is the real intention of the developers of DeepinOS that this DDE Distro is developed in other distributions such as Gnome, Kde, Xfce and other existing flavors and, really, works as it should in its full daily use, and may even contain some bugs, of course , (like every project in development), but that is fully stable in daily use on existing distributions in the Linux world?
Or will DeepinOS only remain for your exclusive use and satisfaction of your full use only for users in China? The question arises because of the brutal drop in fans for this distribution that can be seen here: (https://distrowatch.com/) and other reports in different forums of distributions that have several Spins.
There are developers who have been using DDE for more than five years in other Distributions, such as ArcoLinux, ArchLiux with DDE 20.2.2, where it was never stable for daily use. Can you say something about it? What is being done in this regard?
I can't post any reports on the Deepin Forum. Can anyone help me on this issue? The text and images do not save and much less when clicking on post does not record.
Thank you in advance for your attention
