Review

Last week's meeting on Sep 15, 2023, revolved around "Music-Adjacent NFTs, SDK, and UI". The main goals were to design a unified schema for music-related NFTs and leverage Neume's unique value in providing this standardized framework. JavaScript/TypeScript and React were identified as the primary development tools. For SDK, it offers efficient data access without the necessity for direct GraphQL interaction. Existing market solutions include NFT APIs like Reservoir and several UI kits. The strategic plan is to integrate Lens Tranche into the SDK in the short term, while the long-term vision encompasses expanding hooks, components, and integrating advanced UI components.

Discussion

This week's meeting, key discussion points revolved around queries about desired front-ends for onboarding, possible collaboration projects, identification of primary POCs, and the current status of Lens and on-chain music. The team also delved into the evolving music industry's trajectory, imagining a world after the "death of royalties" and how F2P can pave the way for more valuable tiered products. The importance of mNFTs as ideal F2P models was highlighted, as well as the need for developing "mastery paths" according to types of fans (social, competitive, passive, etc) for enhanced user experience and the reconceptualization of music products in line with the music network's evolution. The group also touched upon the idea of syncing nodes from HiFi, Lens considerations, the significance of creator-to-creator relationships, and defining Neume SDK's core value.

Moving Forward: A Neume Direction

The team is exploring new paths for Neume to effectively connect with on-chain creators. Several use cases have been ideated and are under discussion. While the core team is considering a fresh direction, a definitive path hasn't been determined yet. However, by eliminating non-priorities, we are opening the door to a wealth of new opportunities.
